“Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Whenever she went out, the little girl wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called her Little Red Riding Hood.” Looking into the mythology, we were intrigued to find the story of “Little Red Riding Hood”, dating back to its earliest written incarnation by Charles Perrault in 1697. Doesn’t take much Freudian study to figure it out, really: young and pure, covered in her protective red cloak, all alone in the dangerous woods being stalked by the ravenous, predatory wolf.
